[Fun fact]: Did you know that Turkey introduced coffee to Europe?

Like the heading says, were you aware that the coffee which you are drinking right now, was actually introduced to Europe by the Turkish people?
During late 1500s, through trade, Venice and the Ottoman Empire (now known as Turkey) exchanged a variety of goods which included coffee. The Venetian merchants then introduced coffee drinking to the wealthy and from there, the popularity of coffee grew.
I raise my cup of coffee to the Ottoman and Venetian traders, for introducing this lifesaver drink to the world!

It was started during 1455 and has expanded now to house more than 3000 shops occupying 61 streets. You’ll possibly be unable to explore the entire place but you can always give it a try!

Turkish cuisine is one of the three most diverse cuisines in the world along with French and Chinese. Turkish coffee which was introduced by the Ottoman Empire is actually not the most consumed drink in Turkey, its tea!
