The for profit education system

Unfortunately the experience conforming to a bureaucratic system of education has taught me about a grey matter of immense concern. The loophole of “sentiment and sensibility.” The legal order of oppressing the customer who is working towards financial freedom.

This heartless practice of obtaining finances from students { in return } for no services - is a legal matter. This grey area that is driving institutions to dismiss students for profit; is a bank roll of federal income.

They are toying with the hopes and ambitions of the customers and federal tax dollars.

Nice Gig that’s for sure…

I don’t know any other business that can offer services and get paid without providing those services.

I don’t want to say : my issue is ‘this’, and I went through ‘this’…

It’s a relatable principle that is being used to rip off the customers, federal government and tax payers.

“A disrespectful, unprepared and unprofessional teacher drove me to drop my classes. “

The institution was aware of my issues. My grades were up to par and I wanted the education.

The school refused to drop me from the classes upon my request.

I know I should have gone in and begged them to allow me to drop the classes. My gut told me to follow up and just plead with them to help me out. I didn’t want to come in…

I was embarrassed enough and I thought the emails would express my distraught.

The grey area of “sentiment and sensibility.”

Instead of being responsible business individuals they decided to charge me for the classes I begged them to drop me from. Basically; I asked them to take my name from a roster or allow me to simply send in my work online… but since it was via email it wasn’t a valid request.

They told me to use my federal grant to pay for the classes. The councilor and student aid said since I got my student loan I could use that. The pell covered the full cost of the class and I was using my loan for photography equipment… otherwise I wouldn’t of taken the loan.

Now I have a debt. They are charging me over $2000 to take classes they weren’t technically teaching me. The ‘gringo’ issue was a small taste of the tasteless education environment.

If the federal grant covered a more prestigious institution I would have explored other options. Unfortunately I would have to beg family for money or be more in debt with another institution. Right now this school will be holding my past degree hostage. Until I pay off the debt and I will not be able to start this semester or get my previous degree.

If I created the conflict… then I could accept that I shouldn’t be in the school. I emailed four different people and instead of replying with concern or solutions they were salespeople.

Their only concern was getting me in the door and charging me money for a class I didn’t get to take.

When I called to ask for assistance to the treasury department, I was told, “this happens all of the time.”

This is federal money these people are playing with…

I know they have to give some of the cash back to the government but I dropped the class because I was humiliated and degraded. Now the school wants me to forward the emails and write another person about the situation. Even though my original request and concerns were ignored and forwarded to three others.

A loophole in bureaucratic procedures that allows institutions to charge students a ridiculous amount of money, even when degenerate teachers push students out of the class.

Who holds these people accountable to such practices?

They are not charging the government anymore but I signed up with an intent to finish and now I am being charged by the school. I used the federal pell grants and it covered 12 credits! I didn’t need to pay for anything!

I already graduated with my degree in Graphic Design from the same school and decided to continue my education. Unfortunately the experience created this situation.

I have a fee of over $2000 that the federal government would of paid if I was okay with being degraded and humiliated while studying classes that were not following the syllabus. I did ignore the situation until I was fed up but this is a legal issue, not personal.

How can this be something that happens all the time!? These institutions should not be charging for a seat in a class but knowledge that can only be obtained by going through the institution's planned syllabus.

I didn’t miss a flight that was booked 6 months ago and was charged for missing it… I told the school I was offended by a teacher and was too upset to return.

I wanted to be removed from the classes.

If I ordered soup at a restaurant and found a fly in my soup… would they insist I go to the kitchen to grab my own bowl?

This school shit on my confort in the learning environment and charged me for not coming in to sign a paper to drop the classes. Over $2000 I have in debt now…

I didn’t take the classes…

I returned in hopes to continue studying and explained the situation again. Instead of fixing the problem or allowing me to speak with someone who can fix the problem they want me to email another person.

Lucky I am not a person working two jobs to pay the bills …

I will jump through another loophole only because they have me by the balls. A fee for a balance that shouldn’t exist in the first place…

I wonder how many people simply take the loss because the battle is not worth adding to an already stressful work life?

I wonder how many people get pushed around like this ? A institution that is supposed to embrace enlightenment, wisdom and knowledge but heartlessly accumulates profit from people who are degraded by professors.

I lost a semester of study… I will probably lose another semester before I find another institution. I cannot transfer MY GRADES from the institution until I pay the fee they are charging me.

I CAN”T GET MY DEGREE I ALREADY EARNED UNTIL I PAY THEM BACK OR BEG THEM TO REMOVE THE DEBT!

Is this the accountability and integrity of a higher learning university?

The grey area of “sentiment and sensibility.”
