I have several friends who really could have used the money they gave to the Bernie campaign for other things. But they cared about America, understood my simplified explanations of what Pinketty (more Economics of Inequality than Capital in the 21st Century), and really thought the Democrats were relatively honest in their ideals. These are the people who got screwed by the fraud of the neoliberal DNC. Yes, I felt they were foolish. But I felt the folks asking to give peace a chance (while I was in Southeast Asia in the military), were also innocent idealists. But not evil, and the winners at the top of the military-industrial complex (remember that dear grey haired readers?) are still there. That .1% now has accumulated all of the money that did not go to the people who elected Trump, did not go to those who heard the balance in Bernie. Those who did not understand the game that labeled someone who cared about the American 90% as a “socialist”.
I did find your namecalling a bit of a turnoff, if I had read it in The Economist. But I believe your opinions, if a bit crudly and angrily expressed, are actually OK here. But please try to keep a balance. I find Medium by definition is not biased (except that people here tend to be literate, and passionate, and outspoken … and none of these are, by definition, normal: welcome yes, but not “normal”)
