Great case study! Your user observation is really well done and brought a smile to my face as I remembered all the times I fell victim to the ticket machine and missed my train.

I’m curious to know if you came across another ticket machines systems that stood out to you for better or worse while traveling abroad? I find NS to be in the better half of all the ticketing interface I’ve encountered. Some of my favorites are found in Asia, their efficiency and user-friendliness are underappreciated.
