5 year old boy died after being caged and scalded with hot water

A five-year-old boy was kept in a cage measuring just 91x58x70cm, meant for the family cat.

His parents abused him by scalding him with near-boiling water, hit with a broom and pinched with pliers.

The poor boy died with burns covering his body, facial lacerations, nasal bone fracture and acute kidney injury.

The parents are on trial for murder.
