Celebrating the women of YouTube

YouTube has changed the way we find and enjoy video online, and at the heart of YouTube’s success are the stars who attract millions to the platform every month. From yogis and vloggers speaking out against trolls to beauty unboxers and scientific explainers, the women of YouTube are a diverse and engaging group bringing their smarts to their faithful audiences every week (sometimes every day).

VidCon 2016 starts today in California, and we’ll be reporting live from the convention. But we also wanted to use the occasion to spotlight the talented women using YouTube to inform and entertain. In our Women of YouTube series, you can read profiles and interviews from our favorite stars of the digital screen, including Hannah Hart, Grace Helbig, Franchesca Ramsey, Ana Kasparian, and Alessia Cara.

These profiles give a deeper look to the women who are inspiring our writers and audience to be the best they can be and change the world while they’re at it. They are artists and comedians, journalists and nerds, and they have stories to tell that go beyond the videos they post. We hope you will take a few minutes to learn more about them.
