I have been off of social media for almost three years, maybe longer, but who is counting? No Facebook, no Instagram, no Twitter-no nothing! Now grant it, I do receive random texts and phone calls from friends and family about the happenings on the media of social (my way of saying Social Media). Some feel good stories and some of the other stuff. I can appreciate the feel good stories, but the other stuff-Meh!

The most recent “news” has been-Cardi & Nikki, Geoffrey Owens and God only knows what else. I cannot keep up. And I’m probably a day late on all the hype.

But my question to the picture takers, meme makers and commentators is-Why?!? Why are we (you) so quick to scroll through the lives of “celebrities” and lose sight of what’s happening in your own home? Where is the satisfaction? Is your shit that fucked up, that you have to bring other people down based on your perception of a situation you know NOTHING about. All you know is what the Book, the Gram and a few Tweets share. And haven’t we realized the media has its own skewed way of telling a story? Are we that deep in the Matrix that there is no way out-but in?

I cannot answer these questions for you. I can only hope that we begin to remember that we are all human-imperfectly trying to make it through every day of the journey. Sometimes we fall and other times we get back up.

What does it matter how we fell?

It seems to matter far too much because everyone has an opinion.

Looking toward the future with today in mind. #dailyisthejourney

P.S. I had thoughts of writing this post yesterday. Today, I came upon this article that gave me the push to-Just Do It!
