The 40-Year-Old Virgin Actor That Stabbed His Ex-Girlfriend| Shelley Malil
After his enrollment at the Academy of Dramatic Arts, Indian-American comedian Shelley Malil moved from the east to the west coast to finally go forth with his dreams of becoming an actor. Like the Chris Pratt’s and Dwayne Johnson’s of the world, Shelley had little to his name but a big dream that kept him going. He would have television and minor roles in films like The 40-Year-Old Virgin, starring Steve Carrell. Malil’s performance in the film made him one of the top ten overlooked performances of 2005, per the Associated Press. However, three years after being added to this list, Shelley would be forgotten because of the asinine nature of the crime he decided to commit.
I couldn’t find out how long the two had been together, but Shelley was in a relationship with Kendra Beebe. It’s unclear as to what the severity of the relationship was prior to the crime, but on August 10th, 2008, Malil had been drinking prior. Heavily, and something likely happened the day before because he said he had felt “slighted” by her.
