The Death of Jaleayah Davis

A life so young, the death of 20-year-old Jaleayah Davis is beyond tragic. After a night out with some friends, Jaleayah was supposed to meet her younger sister, Taubi, at a rest stop on November 18th, 2011, but would never make it. At 3:41 a.m., a 911 would be made where a motorist would report what he thought he saw was a “human body lying dead on the highway.” Her head was detached from her body due to being ejected from her vehicle’s passenger seat due to her loss of control.

Some would say that Davis’s death was the result of an accident. Jaleayah was drunk, having a blood alcohol level of .19 and a vitreous alcohol level of .24. From the outside, looking in, even to authorities, it looked like an accident. This would be believable if not for the odd circumstances surrounding her death and the nature of the crime scene.

According to Jaleayah’s mother, Kim, her daughter’s clothes were placed neatly on a guardrail next to her body. Layered from bottom to top were her bra, shirt, and coat. Seeing this at the crime scene would suggest that someone else was there before the motorist arrived and saw Jaleayah’s body.

To make things a bit more suspicious, before driving to the rest stop. At 3:28 a.m. Jaleayah called Taubi, upset, and told her to meet her at the rest stop. Her younger sister noticed she was upset and asked her what was wrong, but…
