It is always a blessing to be given a second chance in life. Most felons face more hardships after their release from prison, along with judgment in society.

Lillo Brancato Jr. was born Saul Rodriguez in Colombia but was adopted by an Italian-American family and was raised in New York. The beginning of his career in acting began when he was scouted to play Robert De Niro’s son in the 1993 film “A Bronx Tale.” Brancato recalled how Robert told him, “…you will have people around you who will expose you to dangerous things, and you have to be careful.” Advice such as this is common and should always be considered no matter what you are doing, but it is directly profound in Hollywood for rising stars.

Brancato developed a dependence on drugs. This became piercingly worse for wear when on December 10th, 2005, he and a friend broke into a home in the Bronx. They were trying to steal prescription drugs, but things took an even worse turn than things were already.

28-year-old Daniel Enchautegui, who was off-duty and a neighbor of the home being burgled, investigated the home because he was alerted by the commotion. This led to him being shot with a .357 Magnum after trying to confront Brancato and his friend, Steven Armento. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
