The Tragic Death of Child Actress Judith Barsi
Trigger Warning: Mentions of Child Abuse, Murder, and Suicide.
Being placed into a position of becoming abused is scary and traumatic, especially for a child who feels as though they have no choice in the matter. You bring attention to it, but nothing is done. And then it becomes too late. This was the case with child actress 10-year-old Judith Barsi and her mother, Maria Barsi. Abused by her father, József, he took things to the next level on July 25th, 1988: murder and suicide.
Judith Eva Barsi
Judith Eva Barsi was born in Los Angeles on June 6th, 1978, to Hungarian immigrants Maria and József Barsi. It’s not sure, but there was likely an indication of physical abuse before and after the birth of Judith from her father. As he worked as a plumber, Maria prepared her daughter for the acting world, despite her brother feeling as though the child would not be successful in Hollywood, eventually being spotted by a film crew at an ice rink as they were filming a commercial. By age five, she landed her first role in the miniseries Fatal Vision, which starred actor Gary Cole and Andy Griffith.
