We should all be to a point where we can conclude that police brutality is real and still rampant in our society. There is no rhyme or reason why this should continue happening, especially by those who took an oath to protect and serve. Instead of protecting and serving, you have people like these five officers who abused and brutalized an innocent man with all of this, starting from a minor traffic stop. Tyre Nichols was 29 on January 7th when his life was taken away at 8:34 p.m. for the whole world to see.

Tyre Nichols unintentionally moved to Tennessee from his native Sacramento, California, during the pandemic, finding employment at a FedEx working alongside his stepfather. After their day at work, they returned home to a nice, cooked meal from Tyre’s mother, RowVaughn Wells, who described her son as “damn near perfect.” His mother would teach him to treat others with kindness and show others respect unless they gave him a reason not to. But, this seemed not to have been an issue as Tyre could make friends easily.

One friend Nichols had, in particular, was Niko Chapman. Growing up, Chapman said his parents would only let him walk to their local park if Nichols was there. Niko remembered Tyre as someone who was very welcoming…
