Drooling through Miami 𤤠a cheat sheet
A list for my future self, with everything I must eat if I ever come back for a visit.
Miami surprised me, alright. I already guessed it would feel like the Capital of Latin America. But amongst all the mexican, cuban, puerto rican, salvadorian, argentinian, colombian and even brazilian food (hello again, frozen pĆ£o de queijo to make at home), Iāve seen it has also room for so many more different origins of deliciousness. And that means a happier me.
Not a big epicure, but curious nonetheless, I started exploring as soon as I arrived. And I already have a few favorite local bites, that I pray not to dissapear until Iām done with this mini-life by the beach.

šGreen thai curry @ Siam Rice
One of my first bites in town, and one Iāll always go back to. I donāt know much about the menu, because this coconutty and oh-so-thick soup is always my go-to.
šMushroom and fennel farro risotto @ Glam Vegan
Vegans do eat some seriously tasty food, let me tell you. In case you donāt believe me, just try this risotto. Iāve tried a similar recipe at home and it was an atomic success, but I still crave for the original.
š„Bowl @ Della Test Kitchen
Della was the seed that started the whole Wynwood Yard, a place you should also visit to slow-party on a weekend. But before the beer or wine at the bar, grab a bite here. Caribbean, black coconut rice bowl, Iād say.
š°Key lime pie @ Fireman Derekās
If only all my cravings were as healthy as the ones above. But no, Iād be lying if I didnāt include the most amazing key lime pie Iāve had in my life. And Iāve had my fair share of tasting out there, even in the Keys. Besides, a real fireman turned baker? Iād love a podcast of that story.
š¦Crab legs + fries @ Tarks of Dania beach
Alaskan king crab legs? This way, please. On the side, a dozen freshly shucked oysters with some cold draft beer. As for price, hereās a warning: this is not a place for those of you who only fancy tablecloth dining. This is where our olā friend Shrek would eat.
šMango Sticky rice @ Cake Thai Kitchen
Nope. This is a dessert, people. And this is not the shop in Wynwood. This is the original one, where this mango heaven of a plate was born and still served in a simple way. This might be more up north, almost in Miami Shores. But the trip is worth it for me, every. single. time.
šBanana bread @ Zak the baker
Oh, banana bread. I wish I could say it reminds me of the great banana bread my mom used to make, but all I ever wanted while growing up was actually a better version than hers, an actually delicious and equally healthy alternative in some parallel universe. And well, I found it here. And it is heaven.
