I absolutely agree with your definition of “the occasional cup”. I have always enjoyed opening a new pack of coffee for the awesome aroma. I know freshly ground coffee improves the flavor quite a bit, but never imagined roasting your own coffee was so easy.
By the way, if you haven’t tried South Indian “filter” coffee, I highly recommend it. It comes with a 10-20% chicory blend and you can find it in most Indian stores (though we get ours directly from India). It’s best enjoyed with milk and sugar.
