I appreciate what you are trying to do. This will not work. It won’t work because it does not address costs entirely. We need to have a target of costs that equals 8% of GDP total. Like going to the moon. A target. Roughly $2 trillion. Your plan is 5.2 trillion or so…Japan does it. And they live a very long time, which means more expense. If we could achieve this everything goes away. Everyone is easily covered. Sure Big Medicine is going to squeal, but you say you are tough, so do it! The current system is very corrupted. You go to emergency for simple issue, still urgent, stitches for example, and leave with a 5 digit bill. This is insane. Immoral. Corrupt. This all could have been addressed with ACA, but the leadership sold out to insurance and big medicine. ACA is awful. Free up regulation of everything. Let the walmart of hospitals happen. Make the corrupt status quo obsolete. $5.2 trillion total healthcare spend a year is insanity. It solves NOTHING. Your cellphone is cheap and ubiquitous, not because of “cellphones for all” program, but zero regulations and wild west competition…..and oh, by the way, our current healthcare regulations are killing more people with prescriptions meds than illegal meds, and over 200,000 people per year from medical mistakes….hardly the thing of government regulation safety….
