Besides being mathematically guaranteed not to produce the optimal choice, ranked choice voting undermines the whole idea of an election as a choice.

The Clintonistas here undoubtedly think that ranked choice voting would have forced 3rd party voters to vote for Clinton. But personally I wouldn’t select a second choice, and I think many other wouldn’t, either.
