It is not unreasonable to believe that Martin Luther King would have opposed Roe v Wade. Although he supported Planned Parenthood’s work on birth control, Planned Parenthood’s abortion position evolved slowly — from being opposed to abortion in its early years, to suggesting that therapeutic abortion be decriminalized in the 1950s. It wasn’t until 1969 that Planned Parenthood announced support for complete legalization.
In fact, in a 1962 brochure, PP stated that abortion “…kills the life of a baby before it has begun…”
Similarly, the idea that the Sullivan case was wrongly decided is a reasonable belief. Sullivan raised the standard for public figures suing for libel. The case itself involved Southern public officials suing civil rights organizations, a situation which doesn’t transfer to modern cases of celebrities vs. paparazzi media.
To the anti-Obama stuff — meh. He’s a Republican. But the other opinions for which ThinkProg wants to condemn him: Pretty innocuous stuff.
