Like most of these “bad cops” videos, we don’t see what led up to the confrontation. If the kid did, in fact, threaten to shoot the officer, the officer would be justified in arresting and detaining him.

Once the cop was surrounded by a number of these kids, some of whom matched him in size, and lacking knowledge of whether or not they were armed, the cop was in a position where he had the need and the right to defend himself.

Rather than form a mob and further harassing the officer, the parents should have had a talk with their kids about trespassing and threatening property owners.
