With all due respect, Jesus was not an economist. Several people here have explained the employment effects of a high price floor that keeps wages above the equilibrium wage. The other way such a price floor can be absorbed is by inflation, which would wipe out the real value of the wage increase.

They don’t call it the dismal science for nothing.
