Do you feel that you have what it takes to BE THERE, in you? Still, somehow you feel left behind multiple times? Have you faced situations when you were just there, but you stepped back? Were you right there and still, disappointment followed? Then, you, my friend have to fly down the memory lane and relive those moments to evaluate what went wrong. Feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed? Don’t wanna do it? Trust me you need to do it if you aspire to achieve and if you yearn to live your dreams. If your failures haunt you saying, you could have done it but you still could not, and you ought to do it.

By my experience, it is our inhibitions and that fear of failure that keeps us from success. Understand your inhibitions, confront them and half of the battle is already won. It does not necessarily have to be some big ambition in life for which you need to start retrospection. Begin with baby steps and then take big leaps, that’s what I always say.

List down your inhibitions; be critical of yourself as only you can be a better judge. People around you can give suggestions, be critical of you, or try to help you but they can only try. The point here is that nothing will work for you if you don’t explore your inner self. You can knock as many doors as you want, but only you can help yourself. The voice should come from within.

Once you acquaint yourself with your inhibitions, no matter how uncomfortable you may be, start addressing them one by one and conquer them. For example, this can be as simple as stage fear or speaking up in front of a crowd. What inhibitions could stop you from putting a step forward? Well! No, I shouldn’t go up or I shouldn’t say it. I might make a fool out of myself there. What will people say? Inhibition Alert! These thoughts are your inhibitions, your fear of what will people say or you will screw up out there. Address them!

How would I go about the above scenario? Well! Let’s see. The people I am worried about, do they really matter? What is the worst thing that could happen? They may say a few things and forget. If you do not gather the courage to speak up or do it today, you will never be able to do it ever.

The crowd, what exactly comprises it? We humans. If I don’t stand out, what am I after all? Just a part of the crowd? If I know I can do it, the same crowd will hurl accolades at me rather than mockery. I can do it because I have worked so hard. These fears are nothing but a state of my mind. So, Conquer your mind to conquer the world.

Well! I want to start blogging but why should I? Maybe people would not like what I have to share. There are awesome bloggers out there. Where will I stand? Well! See that’s the best part you have got nothing to lose. Anyways, you were not blogging at all. If it does not work, it doesn’t, people will ignore. What if, your inhibitions are wrong and people do like what you had to say?

You want to start debating but you have a stage fear. Well! Rome wasn’t built in a day. Practice hard and jump into the battlefield. Don’t be scared of losing, learn from your experiences and prepare yourself better. The more you confront your fears, the weaker they will become as your experiences give you confidence and shake the sole foundation of your fears. The more you allow them to weigh on you, the more you’ll lag in the race you have been preparing for since long.

We all take refuge in our comfort zones. We dare to dream but, then somewhere we hesitate to dare against our fears and that’s where we start digging graves for our dreams. It is human to surround ourselves with things that bring us peace. We all have been subjected to an atmosphere in our childhood that gives us a sense of security. The moment we step out of it, at times, we want to reach the pinnacle of heights, we work hard, strive harder day and night but we never make it. It can because of a number of technical reasons as well, but what if you were equipped with everything that you required but your inhibitions dragged you down from the title?

How would you feel if someone drags you down, insults you or beat you up for no reason at all? Would you fight back? Well! Very brave eh? Then why would you run and not confront your inner self? Be aggressive and lethal against the negativity that is developing inside your little kingdom. Remember the countless number of times you couldn’t sleep. The number of times you got hurt in the play ground but you got up every time because you thought you have it in you. Remember the smile on the face of your loved ones, which you imagined to see when you would fulfill your dreams. That satisfaction within which you yearned for which you would feel after achieving your goals. Take on your inhibitions, and beat ’em in their own games.

Our mind is our greatest strength and sadly can become our greatest weakness. It is a piece of clay; mold it, as you want it. Feed it with the seeds of positivity, block it from the storms of negativity, and nurture it with your dreams and work on it every single day. It is one thing that you need to give all your love, confide all your dreams in and do a little pep talk every day to make sure you keep your little kingdom free from your greatest enemies of your dreams.

So come on now! Life is short. Not every day you will be lucky enough, for fate to favor you. We can paint a great future for ourselves if we know our colors. Grab the opportunities and don’t look back. Just work hard and dive in, there will be no grades.

Above all the battles it is the battle you fight within. It is the world in which you dream and set your goals, wherein winning the titles is necessary for your innate satisfaction rather than impressing others. Explore yourself, know yourself and dare to dream. Work hard, practice harder, confront yourself and conquer your inhibitions and a peaceful soul you shall be :)
