Sunday Story #9: Inequality and Technology

Systemic oppression and inequality have existed since nearly the dawn of man. “Minorities” especially people of “Black” descent have been oppressed; while “White” people have been the oppressors. Unity has not demolished the oppression my people have faced, but, it has created large movements in small mounts of time. Technology, has created several large platforms where likeminded people share their thoughts and ideas with one another. Technology has united the Black community greatly. Retaliation to the inequalities we all feel have been greatly expressed within the past five years. Cases like Trayvon Martin to campus havoc in Mizzou have caused uproar all over the Internet. Even though miles may divide individuals, we are united through the Internet. In under twenty-four hours, all of America knew about the death threats in Mizzou. Technology has enabled faster communication in discuss important issues not only in America, but the world.
