My husband and are soon facing similar circumstances as this woman. My husband is a tooling engineer in the iron foundry industry. But due to the ups and downs of the economy, the trials and tribulations of the automotive industry and that a huge amount of our scrap is sold to China which has increased its price, my husband has endured 6 layoffs since 2001, the last December 2014. We have been living off our savings for almost two years. My husband is finding that there is not much of a market for 63 year old engineers. He is now working for $9 part time at a grocery store. We have a few months of savings left before we have to cash in our 401. But due to all the missed time during layoffs, we don’t have much. We worry how we are going to pay our bills. Our insurance. Keep the car. I am disabled…so it also means paying for what Medicare hasn’t covered. But given all of this, I don’t see Trump doing anything better than what Obama has done. My husband has health insurance through the ACA. There is a mortgage relief program we are going to apply for that may help us. I trust HRC far more than I do Trump. This article was valuable though. Everyone has a story. Everyone deserves to be heard.
