Everybody should read “Meeting the challenge — making a difference”.

People with personality disorder face significant stigma. This stigma comes from wider society (who have poor understanding of mental illness), from medical professionals (who do not understand self harm), and sadly from mental health professionals.

There’s a great document called Meeting the Challenge — Making a Difference.

The document is easy to read and gives clear, simple advice about what is meant by PD, and what can be done to support people with PD.

This document is obviously useful to anyone working in mental heath services, but it’s also useful to people working in A&E or minor injury units, or the police, or housing.
