EA FINALLY releases some Madden 18 gameplay… kinda

IF you kow me know then you know that I’m a huge sports video games nerd. From MLB the Show to Madden, I love it all. Besides music its the only thing I can’t get enough of. And one of my favorite times of years is quickly approaching: MADDEN SEASON. That’s right. It’s that time of year when we start seeing sneak peaks of EA Sports’ annual rollout of the Madden football series. Oh wait…

…we have yet to see any actual gameplay footage from EA. While Rex Dickson proclaimed that we would start to see some gameplay rollout between July 15–20, we have seen nothing but leaked camera footage from EA Play earlier this summer.

This is a worrying prospect for the game franchise as they’re integrating a new gaming engine by FrostBite. By now, we would usually see footage from popular Madden YouTube channels that would have been edited by EA. But so far it has been dry and the Madden community has been livid.

With all of the delay and still no actual gameplay footage it makes users speculate that there are serious bugs with the adoption of this new engine. Which if true would make sense for EA not wanting to release a buggy product and get shredded to pieces by the community.

On top of that many long time Madden users are upset with resources going to a new “story” game mode called Longshot. Many people who are most dedicated to the series felt as if modes like Connected Franchise have been left behind.

Either way it will be an interesting year of Madden. New features rolling out, new engine, another lame soundtrack and people complaining about the same ‘ole shit. I can’t wait!
