I kinda wished you had just said “single women” instead of single people. It IS harder for women in the dating world. I don’t consider myself part of that world anymore, but if I was in my 30s-up-to-50s, I’d consider the world of men right now pretty slim pickings. Women have upped their game and grown a lot, done of lot of self-improvement, while most men I meet (yes, including the already coupled ones) remain beasts in their sexist attitudes towards women specifically and in general. I know that’s a generalization — count me guilty of that — but over the years while I’ve watched women evolve, I’ve watched men dig in their sexist heels and stay put, demand more. Am I a man-hater? Quite the contrary. But I expect less and less from them every year, every contact. And this is for U.S. men in particular. They don’t even know how to flirt, for crying out loud. The fun stuff of male-female interaction. There are countries where flirting is an art. Yeah, I think of leaving.
