Land of the Free, Home of the Broke
Sierra Farrands

Well written! As someone who is from the generation previous to yours, I have to say that I think your cohort isn’t unusual in terms of making bad money/consumption decisions in your youth, but the consequences are much worse. The basics — education, housing and health — cost so much more. You have social media, where everyone presents the best sides of their lives and themselves, and sometimes just a credit-fueled Potemkin-selfie version, constantly. We didn’t have that, just usual Madison Ave noise. I’m quite certain we would have behaved the same if we had.
Anyway, it seems like you’re well on your way to finding the antidote to this, which is equal parts knowledge, self-awareness and honesty. Good luck!
