If you had ever been a journalist instead of a PR professional, you would have known to ask United for comment instead of running with some half-cocked first impressions. As others have pointed out, many airlines have a dress code for passengers they let fly free on an employee pass.
You know nothing about what you perceive as an issue, considering how you jumped on this silly issue of rules for non-rev travelers at the Airlines without any background or knowledge, what that says to me is you are no better that the other know nothing know all’s, like Sarah Palin.
All airlines have this policy, The passes are for employees or family and the rules are clearly stated. Have you never had to wear business clothes for work? This is appropriate, and you are blowing it out of proportion.
United POLITELY explained to you several times that this policy is for company employees and relatives traveling on company passes. But you REFUSE to mention this and insist it is a policy for the general public. It is NOT a policy for the general public.
