You are correct. We cannot rest on our laurels. The closest I’ve come to going viral was via an article that the New York Times published on my brother Stephen and me. Stephen has Autism and I’ve had challenges holding down a full-time job and taking a greater role in his life. When the article came out a few months ago my colleagues and friends shared it with all their networks. I was very moved and touched. Even if things don’t work out for me and Stephen hopefully this will bring more exposure to the plight of care-giver siblings and Autism. Autism is not the problem however laws not keeping up with the problems, employer attitudes and stigma against the developmentally disabled are blockages to progress. Sorry to go on for so long.
