The Decline of War

Words are amazing things. Yours have brought me to the point that I can now describe and better understand what I have been sensing for quite some time. It is not so much the fact that conflict has diminished worldwide, rather that existing conflicts are “over-reported”. I have long believed exactly what you state in your essay: we are focused on what editorial bias wants us to focus on … that which sells newspapers and television air time. This bias has created a jaded society. This “over-reported” and misrepresented situation has been personally frustrating for many years. I suppose that the old cliche’ is true: the first casualty of war is the truth. Thank you for bringing clarity to what I have been unable to posit for many years.
