Are you Jesus?
I recently got into a conversation with a friend about free will and it led to a talk about faith. He had a limited context of Christianity. He believed there is God and heard about Jesus, but beyond that … nothing. It has become a great dialogue that we’ve kept going.
This week I got this story from him via text:

The question: Are you Jesus?
This is not What Would Jesus do? This is Are you Jesus? Do your actions make others see His light? In a time where many people peg Christians as hypocrites, it’s time for more showing and less telling.
Where can we be Jesus? How can we be Jesus?
Mother Theresa had a fun challenge to those who wanted to come to Calcutta to help her. Help your family, help your neighborhood, help your city, help your country. When all of those are complete, then come see me. (paraphrase)
Are you Jesus?
Are you Mother, Father, sister, brother, son, daughter?
Are you listener, consoler, giver, friend, volunteer?
Are you boss, supervisor, leader?
Being seen as Jesus doesn’t mean having to give away all of your possessions. It’s the little moments of mercy and love with your family, neighbors, and office where you are the genuine light of Christ.
Jesus died on the cross. He paid the ultimate price for our sins. He also provided the ultimate example of selfless service.
How might you “be Jesus” today?
