I think that this balance of maximising personal and corporate freedom, with a sprinkling of common sense, is the only viable option, so I agree that the Economist’s stance is the right one. Nation states are too corrupt and I mean that in both a direct and indirect way depending on the state, to be trusted anyway. Corporations are morally blind but at least you can trust them to make money. Government must regulate corporations or public will not vote for it.
