Trying to make things fit
Kathy Jacobs

My guess at where self-esteem comes from is: genetics, parents, then in later life, going through tough situations and having the right relationships.

My tip would be, ask yourself how you feel every day. It might be really hard to tell but one trick is if you don’t know how you feel about the whole article, how do you feel about the punctuation? The spelling? The style? The length? Is there any area you feel good about? Or bad about? That sort of thing.

Then once you know how you feel, you can choose whether to listen to what other people think based on whether they seem to be helping you or hindering you.
