We had an “assault weapon” ban and DOJ concluded afterwards it had no effect on reducing crime. Very few murders are committed with these weapons or with any type of rifles. You said you want a “straight up national ban on every single kind of assault weapon, semi and fully automatic weapon to private citizens.” A substantial percentage of all new guns are “semi-automatic” so you just called for a ban on most guns in America. And fully automatic guns are already illegal. It is difficult to take your proposals seriously when you don’t understand basic information about guns and gun laws. You obviously just read left-wing sources that are replete with such misinformation.
