Let’s get moving!
Hello there!

Thank you for joining me in my journey to better health, strong core, stronger mind and an overall fit lifestyle.
For a software engineer- who also happened to work for an MNC, until quite recently when I packed it in-turned fitness enthusiast, now a Classical mat Pilates instructor and a prospective nutritionist, it is an entirely different ball game for me to shift to a completely different realm and excel as a full time working professional in the fitness industry in toto. But I’d rather risk than regret, especially when the risk I’m willing to take not only gives me that adrenaline rush but also is the one that will constantly help me outgrow myself as I help others build healthier habits and happier lives. So I’m finally carpe diem-ing and embarking on my voyage in the fitness orbit. Moving forward, I’d love to keep sharing my knowledge on food and fitness and everything I learn along the way.
Having spent considerable amount of time working on myself to get better (both, physically and mentally — physically-lost about 15kgs of weight since that seemed like the cure-all for my PCOS problem; mentally- you could say I’ve successfully battled depression and I’m in a perfectly good place right now — and I take all the pride I can for these tiny achievements which seemed insurmountable fears at a point); I always love to talk and promote the importance of good health and an overall fit mind and body, not just momentarily because of the fitness fad, but because I personally, sincerely believe that health is what’s going to stay with us in the long run. As far as the importance or need of good health goes — there are crazy number of benefits of working out and keeping fit — mind-body coordination, improved posture, increased strength, flexibility, weight stability, reduction of symptoms of tons of diseases and medical conditions, reduced mood swings, stress reduction, muscle gain, boosts immune functions, delays aging and you can keep adding as it suits after experiencing the benefits. Inspite of being the know-it-alls, I find it necessary to promote health and fitness among everyone because, in the times where we are so confident that “we’ve got just about everything covered or we stay assured that everything is ‘taken care of’”, can we say ,“I got it covered” when it comes to committing to exercising regularly for our own sake? We’ve learnt that health is wealth at a very young age yet we compromise our most valuable possession for literally everything materialistic and perishable (not that all those things don’t matter or come easy but I’d still go for health over all the riches and if that’s unlike you, I’ll try my best to help you get a different perspective!). So rather than promoting health by listing the need and the perks of a good one, I’d advice that instead of finding a reason to get yourself to exercise and improve your health, take a leap of faith and just go for it (for people who are not very thrilled with the ‘leap of faith’ idea, apply the 5 second rule — Just decide to start exercising and act on it in 5 seconds)! Hit the gym, go for a run, take up a sport, start slow with yoga, take up a Pilates class or mix it all up to keep it interesting, but get on with it. All the reasoning and motivation comes along the journey (call it a first hand experience maybe?).
We tend to take our ability to “move” for granted and almost always, it’s when our movements get restricted or are accompanied with pain or anything unusual, we realise the significance of “seamless, effortless movement” which we are capable to do voluntarily or involuntarily. The entire reason why I’m drilling it down to realising the value of our movement is because I want to fixate on how we are habituated to do anything and everything as a cure rather than prevention, how we stick to being reactive rather than being proactive and sadly this holds true even when it comes to our health or when we choose to get fit. So I want to put this out there — Fitness is an armour rather than an ace up the sleeve. Don’t wait for a reason to come along to start working out or exercising as a cure or as remedy (as opposed to what I did until a while ago). Even better, prevent all those problems and let the fit lifestyle resonate with your everyday routine. Remember — No workout or movement is ever wasted. Be proactive in choosing and working on good health. The task is just to train our minds to set our body in motion and get moving! Once you convince and set your mind on it, it’s not rocket science really, your body dutifully follows. Also, in all that new found zeal, that blood pumping 2x faster, don’t forget to be kind to your body. Don’t overdo because you’re too exhilarated only to lay sore later and utterly question your choices! You’re doing it because you love your body, not because you hate it. Love your body for what it is and work your body to see what it is capable of and you’d be amazed to learn what your mind and body can conquer.
So the plan is pretty straightforward—
Let’s get moving and then learn to flow!
