Event report — Latitude59, Tallinn, Estonia
Last week we were at the famous Startup event Latitude59 in Tallinn, Estonia. It is described as the flagship startup & tech event of e-Estonia — the world’s first digital society. It welcomed more than 2000 participants including investors spanning from US to Japan, more than 150 startups mainly from Europe over 20 countries.
This was a great opportunity for Daneel to make valuable connections with investors and other startups in the AI field. This event satisfied our networking desires and convinced us to be an exhibitor at the next Latitude59 event. Out of the many interesting contacts, these were the most relevant:
- KX.com: “Kx technology was created to address one of the most basic problems in high-performance computing: the inability of traditional relational database technology to keep up with the explosive escalation of data volumes.”
- B-Hive: is a European collaborative innovation fintech platform that brings together major banks, insurers and market infrastructure players. They propose to work on common innovation programs and build bridges between corporate partners and startup and scale-up community members. As our communication director is based in Belgium, he will stay in contact with them and make new connections while attending common B-Hive events in Brussels.
- Kipwise: this startup proposes to save time by saving all your team’s knowledge on the internet by sharing relevant content found on the web and gathering it on a Slack. This community news curation appeared to us like very interesting.
- Aisii: they propose to humanize robot communication by using Social Robot, SOC Model, and Token Economy for communication. They will develop a system called A-CORE, B-GATE, and C-OPEN for advancing the communication function.
All of these new contacts will allow us to pursue new partnerships in a variety of fields and insert our team in new professional networking areas. As an example, we were pleased to discover Superangel, an innovative investing company for early stage investments from entrepreneurs to entrepreneurs. They organized a very special competition where CEOs pitch ideas during a parachute jump! You can find the first CEOs who tried the experiment here.
