I have no idea what I’m doing

Every day I carry the weight of knowing it’s my responsibility to grow my households investments. That weight is a result of not knowing the answer to questions I feel I should know the answer to. Questions like:

  1. Did I pick the right combo of stocks for my 401k?
  2. Should I contribute more to my 401k, or hoard the cash to BTFD?
  3. Should I turn our current home into an investment property and buy a second?
  4. Should I take the down payment for a possible second home and BTFD?
  5. What if I don’t know what I’m doing and BTFD when it’s not actually a FD.
  6. What is a bitcoin and why didn’t I buy it 10 years ago?
  7. Why are emerging markets doing so well this year?
  8. Bonds? Da hell are those and do they actually matter?
  9. If I answer any of these questions wrong, does that mean I never get to retire?

I’ve been a grown up for 7 years now, and the only thing I’ve really learned is → I have no idea what I’m doing. And slowly, I’m becoming more and more okay with that.
