So you’re currently bored and have decided to produce a podcast in all the free time that you have. Fair enough. If you get good at it your new hobby could eventually generate income. Plus, producing podcasts are fun! I can’t say that I’m an expert at producing podcasts, but for the last few months Liz and I have been making our own. Hopefully, some of the things we’ve learned and had taught to us can get you started.

At each level I’m going to offer free, low budget and more professional options. Podcasting may not be for you, so…

Aaron Gordon is arguably the best contest dunker to ever play in the NBA. You would think that would mean that he would have won multiple All Star weekend dunk contests. You would be wrong. After being robbed for the second time in a competitive event, Gordon remains title-less in the contest that he has controlled the narrative of for half a decade.

I know what you’re probably thinking, “Why does it matter that Aaron Gordon has never been given the chance to lift up a trophy and shake the hand of an executive from some faceless corporation that encourages…

Lil’ Wayne released a new album this past weekend… That’s pretty much it. Yes, it featured some of his best work since Carter III. But to call it a good album, you’d need to be a hopeless fanboy. Funeral could have been a great album, but at 25 tracks, it feels bloated. Many of the stronger tracks feel too long. Wayne’s album falls victim to the era in which he reigned. The one era in music when quantity out-valued quality.

At the latest Grammy Awards, an EP won the best reggae album award. In recent years, mixtapes have won in…

When I was in high school, we went on a field trip to Washington DC. While there we checked out a Washington Bullets game. During a timeout, I was asked to shoot from half-court. Sadly, I missed. If I sunk my attempt, my high school would have won an SUV. Half-court shots at NBA games have won people cars, had the chance to win a million dollars, or a year’s worth of a sponsor’s product.

Recently, a gentleman sunk a half-court shot at a Knicks game. His prize was $1000 worth of scratch tickets. When he finished scratching all those…

The decade has barely begun and rap’s first battle has already left its mark. Featuring rappers from the UK: Stormzy, who we’ve written about here, and legendary grime MC, Wiley. This ‘clash,’ as grime MCs call their battles, was a surprise to many. Stormzy’s latest album is currently number 1 in the UK. Wiley had a crossover hit last year featuring Sean Paul, Steflon Don and Idris Elba. These are not the type of artists fans expect to clash. …

Fader Magazine has described Jada Kingdom as Jamaica’s alternative voice of pain. As appropriate of a title as that is, it doesn’t fully explain Jada’s impact on Jamaica’s dancehall scene, and the music industry in general. She is unquestionably dancehall’s premier female lyricist; able to write party hits, songs of pain and tracks dissing her rivals in rapid succession.

Case in point, these past two months Kingdom has released three songs: The first, Shen-Heng, a response to rival Shenseea’s attack of her at an event sponsored by Red Bull. …

Many seasons ago, back when I had a reasonable bedtime and I was still a fan of the Simpsons, Homer was commissioned to design a car for his long-lost brother’s automotive company. The result was a car so bad that his multi-millionaire brother would lose everything. The car, and the episode were simply titled, “The Homer.”

If you watch the episode in full, you’ll see that the design team Homer was leading had a brilliant car design that fit all of Homer’s criteria. …

Can you dance? I used to think I could dance. On dance floors in nightclubs I would mosey over to attractive women, offer my hand and spin them around in enthusiastic revelry. If I had a dollar for every female who has told me that I could dance, I wouldn’t be rich, but I could afford a slightly larger apartment.

I really thought I was a good dancer. Then, one day the current person that I’m dating asked if I would join her at a swing dance event. There were classes before the dance got going. Full of confidence I…

There were a lot of bad attempts at Gospel Rap when I was a kid. Rap was a new thing, and people thought it could be used to sway kids to church. The problem was that none of these gospel rappers were part of the hip-hop community. They didn’t respect us. I paid them no mind.

I’ve never been a day person. As a teenager, the only way I could be coaxed out of bed was blaring morning radio. To be more precise, blaring Power 95 FM. At the time, Power 95 was the top radio station in Bermuda. …

It’s hard to believe but NBA teams are back in camp! It feels like only yesterday that the Toronto Raptors won their first title. Marc Gasol was partying like crazy and all was right with the world. This Summer The Canadian and US teams sent their C squads to the basketball World Cup. The US qualified for the Olympics, but Canada is going to need to heavily recruit players to get through one of the last chance qualifier tournaments next year. The FIBA World Cup was good for Marc Gasol as he hoisted his second trophy in 3 months (Congrats…
