Photojournalists Francesco Malavolta http://www.francescomalavolta.com/ and Massimo Sestini http://www.massimosestini.it/ appear to have been working the Mediterranean migrant crisis in June 2014. I wonder if they would be willing to share their photographs from the weekend of the 27th (if they have any)? Perhaps if someone asks them nicely? And if they don’t have photos from that weekend, I wonder if they would know other photojournalists who were working that weekend who might? It’s another long shot, of course, but might be worth at least taking a look — in the interest of leaving no stone unturned. Either families of the missing could go through the photos or the Ghost Boat team could post photos of the missing folks and the public could sift through the photographers’ pile and tag any possible matches or anything else of interest (like what they do at zooniverse.org).
