Some additional information and a few additional thoughts/questions: 1.) The historical weather data for Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli for June 2014 is here http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/HLLM/2014/6/28/MonthlyHistory.html and the actual historical weather satellite images can be viewed here http://www.sat24.com/history.aspx (hint: check the “infrared” box to view what the clouds looked like after nightfall)-skies were clear over Zuwarah from late on 06/26 through 06/29, however the tsunami that hit Odessa in Ukraine on 06/27 and injured six folks came, “during a calm summer day,” so a lack of clouds/bad weather doesn’t necessarily mean anything good and may actually be bad news — think about the smugglers thinking the weather is clearing up and then getting unexpectedly hit by tsunami-like waves; 2.) June 28, 2014 was the first night of the “new moon,” meaning it was pitch black the nights of June 27, 28 and 29, 2014 making sea travel particularly dangerous — just an observation; 3.) Does Yafet have access to Segen’s cell phone or her cell phone bill/records? Who was the last person she called and when? And is he absolutely certain he spoke to her on 06/27? Has he checked/can he check his own cell phone bill/records to make sure? June 27, 2014 was a Friday and Fridays in Islamic countries are like Sundays in the U.S., most folks don’t work — if he was at work when she called, it probably wasn’t Friday — human memory is a slippery thing sometimes, especially after a year and a half has passed; 4.) Finally, why would Segen leave her cell phone behind? Obviously, we know she did because one of the smugglers answered it after she and Abi were gone, but why would she willingly leave it behind? Keys, absolutely, won’t need those any more - luggage, okay, the boat will probably be too full to bring much anyway, but her cell phone? That disturbs me. Her cell phone contained all her contacts and was her only link to Yafet. If I was alone in Zuwarah with my child, I’d give you my clothes, my hair and all my dental fillings before I gave you my cell phone. That’s fishy. Actually, though, I also think that may end up being the most hopeful thing. It means she probably didn’t give it up voluntarily which means she probably wasn’t put on a boat which means she probably didn’t drown in the sea and may very well still be alive. Somewhere. Unfortunately, it also probably means she and Abi were sold to someone — hopefully together.
