What Happened To James McCartney?

Looking back at a promising career….

A James McCartney song popped up on my playlist the other day, and it got me thinking, “What happened to James?” He had a promising career. Yet, his last album was released in 2016 — almost eight years ago.

2013-ish, I jotted down my thoughts about James as an emerging singer-songwriter. So, here is my take on James’ career at that time.

James McCartney stands as the final member of the “Beatles Kids,” attempting the challenging balancing act of following in the footsteps of legendary giants while forging their path. Due to the towering expectations of every Beatles fan and music critic worldwide, the pressure is unimaginable.

So far, the offspring of the Beatles, or “Beatle-lings,” have struggled to achieve significant commercial success. Julian Lennon may be at the top of the heap, with his hit album Valotte spawning two top ten hits in the 1980s.
