Have a look at this pin I pinned 4 weeks ago. It’s about the World Cup predictions. It already has 60 repins.

Most of the repins are from pinners who are not following my board. This means pinners are into sports and are searching for World Cup related keywords.

You can take a look at the pin here: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/15621929932325502/

Q1: “Can brands take advantage of the football mania on Pinterest?

Q2: “What can they pin?”

A1: Of course! Glad you asked ☺

A2: If you are a brand who is pinning current events, you can pin your selection, the groups, your favorite players, football stories. And if you are a sponsor of your country’s selection, you can also add behind-the-scenes images.

  • Recipes. Food works perfectly on Pinterest and a lot of people are gathering in their homes or cafes to watch the games. Pinning football-themed snacks and drinks is a good start.
  • Who doesn’t love a football party? Pinterest is the best source for Football party decorations and theme ideas that you can find. Football parties, cheer, laughter, sadness, places in your city where your followers can watch the games. Emotions will be huge. There will be winners and losers.
  • Humor, infographics, stories. Check this board by VisualLoop for football-related infographics http://www.pinterest.com/visualoop/world-cup-infographics/
  • Offer discounts, coupons. If you are providing your followers with some advantage, reward or benefit for engaging with your pins, you are giving them a reason to follow you and to check out your boards and pins, to come again.
  • The World Cup is not just about football. It’s about stories. Show your brand sports story. The World Cup inspires people, they are excited.
  • If you are a brand in Brazil, pin the Brazilian lifestyle, culture, stories of football fans …
  • Pay attention to your board covers and pin descriptions. Use relevant keywords and hashtags. And make sure you find the time to respond to comments and questions.
  • Keep it simple and have fun!
