Why do people keep calling Durant a 7-footer when he’s 6'9"?

The NBA has always been bad basketball to some extent b/c the stars are so good they can take shitty shots and still make them at a high rate. Jacking up shots has always been too easy (for pros) relative to working harder for better shots.

Yet there’s still hope. The quintessential “try for good shots” team — the Spurs — with only one of the top 25 players in the league — was up 25 in Oakland without Parker until Leonard went down. And without Parker, Leonard, or Lee, they were within single digits in the 4th quarter (to a team that now had the 4 best players in the series) of both games in SA.

So let’s not raise our glasses too soon.
