I’m ok with that. See I buy my news from NYT and Wash post. But I consume twitter like there’s no tomorrow. See, the problem is discovery. I’m not going to be on X news website all day every day. But I will on twitter, and that’s the problem.
Current news websites treat consumers like they are there all the time, or alternatively have hours of time to consume said news.
So either one of two things has to happen.
- Have less news, so people can consume more
- Give readers more time so they can read more news.
Those two things are impossible. Well lets be honest. One is impossible the other is just a decision.
So if we cannot give more time and less news is a silly decision then we can at least recommend important stuff.
So to your point not algorithmic but hand picked.
You are the news org. You know what’s the most important.. that’s your job to help me get an understanding of the world right now.
