The POTUS dying from covid-19 would be a symbolic disaster for the United States. If covid-19 kills the POTUS, what chance do mere citizens have? How demoralizing. But take comfort, he is not going to die. Thanks to the “thoughts and prayers” of many, continuous medical monitoring at a world class facility, experimental treatments with ‘antibody cocktail’ Regn-Cov2 and antiviral Remdesivir, zinc, vitamin D, and possibly supplemental oxygen, he is on his way to a full recovery. Will a recovered President Trump emerge from his hospital suite humbled and chastened, eager to improve his country’s pandemic response? Or, having conquered covid-19, will he emerge emboldened and even more reckless? …
