519 Fantasy Week 2 Power Rankings
A lot of things to cover from week one. A few teams surprised, for better or for worse. Injury-wise, we came out of week 1 pretty good. Fournette, Baldwin and Rodgers headline the injuries for week 1. After week 1, I still think any team in the league can take the title. Anyways let’s get to the ranking and see what has changed after one week of action. As always, I won’t rank myself so there are 11 spots to move. Here we go:
11. Golden Tate Of Mind (Mike, 0–1)
Not only did the Lions get zonked by the Jets, Mike came home to see that he got zonked in fantasy too. Even without an RB2, Mike picked up Kenneth Dixon and received a decent performance from him. However, Dixon is now injured, and RoJo was inactive, so Mike is still on the hunt for a decent RB2. The Watson/Fuller connection I’ve been hyping up all season has yet to formulate. And Marvin Jones had the potential for a huge night but dropped two long TD passes. Mike’s ceiling is still there.
10. IR Waiting To Happen (Josh, 0–1)
Some dissapointing performances in week 1 from Alex Collins and McCafferey. However, I still think those two are some of the safest RBs week-to-week so I’ll write it off. Baldwin goes down for an injury, so now Josh needs to rely on AJ Green and Crabtree until Alshon/Edelman return. Josh’s team is still solid but I’m gonna have to see a better week than his 88 point total in week 1.
9. 1stNGoal (Trit, 0–1)
It was a down week for Trit. Underperformances by Hunt/Kelce are going to happen, but when the players are on the same team, it hurts Trit when they struggle. Marquise Goodwin went down with an injury and the multi-million dollar quarterback, Jimmy G, under performed as well. There will be boom weeks for Trit, this week however, was a dud.
8. BLAIRSZN (Matt B., 1–0)
Okay, maybe I’m a little salty Matt gave me my first L of the season. I’m still not in love with his WR core going forward, and the hyped up Jimmy Graham had a disappointing week 1. That being said, Brees/Gordon/Howard had huge week 1 showings and look in mid season form. There are no outliers in this league, and if someone were to rank Matt as a top 5 team, I would understand. GG’s Matty B!
7. Hangin’ Wit Hernandez (Randy, 0–1)
Dion Lewis surprised, but Lesean McCoy had an absolute stinker. Randy still has one of the most complete teams in the league. If Shady turns it around and showcases his classic CutOnDime style in week 2, Randy’s name will rise.
6. D Jackson 5 (Chas, 0–1)
Sure, he’s 0–1 and got smacked up by Todd Gurley/James Conner week 1, but if we look at his team going forward… Joe Mixon looks like he could be in for a big big year, and that was the biggest risk of Chas’ team. If Mixon keeps it up (which he wont week 2, but afterwards), Chas’ WR core will make him a huge contender.
5. 2 Girls 1 Kupp (Naman, 1–0)
Dalvin Cook is back. Odell Beckham is back. TY Hilton is back. And he has the greatest QB of all time, even with one leg. Naman might need to solidify his flex positions and replace Olsen, is he does that successfully, he’ll remain a top 5 roster.
4. MattyJanglez (Matt, 1–0)
Leveon Who? A huge mover from last weeks power rankings. James Conner and Todd Gurley are going to make matt a contender every week. Wait a minute, did somebody say Adrian Peterson got 160 yards this week? The man is 33 years of age! And he can’t read! His three RB’s combined for 80 points. The Colts backfield didn’t show anything special so Marlon Mack’s season outlook is still bright.
And now for the podium going into week 2…
3. 7th Floor Crew (Jimi, 1–0)
It might finally be the year for the league veteran in his 5th season of 519 Fantasy. A strong showing of his WR Core, which scored a whopping 90 points between AB/Hill/Cobb alone!!! I need to see Kenyan Drake and Royce Freeman showcase a boom week, but until then, 7th Floor Crew looks scary.
2. KillSZN (Isaiah, 1–0)
Alvin Mother Fuckin’ Kamara. His 41 points combined with the PPR studs of Tate and Diggs gave Mike the work this week. The Ravens DEF combined with Greg The Leg scored 34 points. Freeman had a slightly slow start to the season but faced a stout Philly D. Isaiah’s PPR machine of a team is gonna be tough to take down.
1. Mikey Vickey Whip It (Mark, 1–0)
Mark’s team showed no mercy this week. JuJu and Ajayi are going to have off weeks, but when they hit, like they did in week 1, Mark will win the week, considering the rest of his starting roster. Kerryon Johnson showed promise but the Lions look abysmal. Going forward, Mark is one of the league’s juggernauts.
Good games everyone and see you Thursday when the Undefeated Ravens take on the Bengals. Cheers :)
