Biases are real. But responding to them by playing the game they demand, as John Greathouse suggests, only re-enforces them. John is dead wrong on this topic: People in power positions should use their influence to advocate change, not reinforce the status-quo by providing survival tips.
Men and women need to be more proactive in changing public perception. I am in the early stages of creating a “Marketing for good” initiative where marketers donate their time to help change public perception on important topics such as these.
Change starts with all of us.
