As an individual with a degree in political science I find all of this absurd. States have undergone numerous evolutions in regards to monetary policy and how currency has been measured and how states engage with each other around matters of currency. Effective management on the part of government of the rules that manage the economy are the single greatest indicator of success and failure of states. Also, this is not the first time that items of value not tied to a nation state are traded. Gold which use to underpin currency no longer does but people still trade in its value because it’s a store of value just cryptos are and this is true of many other commodities. The difference with cryptos is that while Gold has fallen out of fashion as a medium of exchange of stored value that is not true with Cryptos but there is absolutely nothing that suggests that additional stores of value cause the disintegration of nation states. Nation states are organized around geographies, cultures, language and legal jurisdictions. Crypto currency neither provides nor supplants these elements of society. While America, as you suggest, is many tribes. one legal system manages all of them and this is accepted. If you look deeper there are in fact 50 legal systems with variations which account for regional differences and so this is already dealt with. In the present state of America, there are certainly divisions but are these divisions comparable to say the divisions of America in terms of North and South in relation to the civil war. Or the differences around the civil rights movement in different parts of the country. Certainly, while we live in a politically charged time it is a charge of frustration with status quo rather divisions like those that existed in the country’s past. If you want to look at nations in crisis look at the capital and human flight in Russia or China and then compare them to the numbers you mention around renunciations of US citizenship. Sorry man, but your article doesn't convince even if they are interesting ideas to ponder.
