SPARQL in Plain English: Defining SPARQL

This can be considered more a “definition” post than an entire article.

SPARQL (SPARQL Protocol and RDF Query Language): “…an RDF query language, that is, asemantic query language for databases, able to retrieve and manipulate data stored in Resource Description Framework (RDF) format” [1].

Simplified: Plain English: An RDF query language used to manipulate, analyze, and create data in RDF documents (databases).

*SPARQL is not solely bound to RDF documents (databases), but this is for another article in the future.
