It’s really quite shocking the things POs say to victim’s families. I didn’t write this above, but the PO handling our case was really defensive. He equalized our questions of potential misconduct with qualifying statements like, “See this picture of my daughter? I understand.” The implication being that he understood my mother’s loss, because he had a living daughter. What makes everything more egregious is that my family is not the only family who has dealt with this treatment.
