In which a Hollywood production builds a fake tent city complete with shopping carts, cardboard signs, and broken umbrellas mere blocks from where an ACTUAL 400-person tent city stood stood in response to Vancouver’s housing crisis. At the Victory Square film location, the police provide security and traffic control. At Oppenheimer Park, they evicted the homeless from their encampment and made arrests.
Casting a glow over the fake tent city is a neon sign that reads “Let’s heal the divide.”
